Our Education Team is here to support you! Please read the following information in its entirety.
A. Between now and the start of the quarter you will receive three important emails to help you move forward:
· Online Orientation invitation
o The Online Orientation will introduce you to Blackboard, our learning management system. It contains six units. All units of the orientation are required and it must be completed in order for you to have access to your online courses. Completing it will ensure that you can spend your time in the first weeks of the quarter concentrating on course information rather than course navigation.
· Bookstore email
o Use this email to help you order your textbooks. Please note that this e-mail will contain a code, specific to you, called your “Voucher ID” which you may use to purchase your books. Also note that is it important to purchase books based on the “ISBN” number associated with each book. Many books are custom books designed specifically for our courses.
· Registration Confirmation e-mail.
o This very short email states “For important information about registration, copy and paste this link into your browser.” Be certain to read through the information within the link, it is very important to your success.
B. Once the quarter starts:
· During Week 1: Log into your classes on the first day of the quarter. Check your course calendar and make note of due dates, including those at the end of the course.
o Note that the final week of each quarter is shorter than the others. Make sure that you understand the due dates throughout the quarter and spend the first few weeks preparing for final projects, exams, etc. that will be due at the end of the quarter.
· Weekly assignments: Units run Monday through Sunday. Initial discussion postings are due on Thursday at midnight and assignments are due on Sunday at midnight central time.
· The final week of each quarter: This week ends early. Check course calendar to understand due dates throughout the quarter and spend the last few weeks planning ahead for an abbreviated schedule.
· Stay up to speed: Watch course announcements in Blackboard weekly and check your student email account many times a week.
C. Registration in future quarters:
- Register online: We will suggest courses to you via the student portal. If you have questions please e-mail or give us a call.
- Check the weekly newsletter: Information will be posted one week prior to the start of registration in the online weekly newsletter.
