Educational Background:
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration-Accounting from the University of St. Thomas.
Professional Background:
I work seasonally for a national public accounting firm. This allows me to keep my CPA license current plus I get the opportunity to train new staff.
Courses I Teach:
I teach all of the accounting classes but my area of concentration is with the Accounting Principles classes.
Personal Interests:
In addition to teaching and taxes, my other passion is "creating new spaces" with a gallon of paint and a total change in design. I love the "before and after"! HGTV is my favorite channel but I don't have cable. I also love vacations in Acapulco or a road trip on my husband's Harley.
Why I Enjoy Teaching at MSB Online:
I enjoy teaching accounting at MSB online because our classes are designed to provide students with interactive learning opportunities. We have utilized great tools like MyAccountingLab and WileyPlus and recorded Elluminate sessions in the online accounting classes. Students really attest to the benefits of these programs! I believe our classes are well designed to cover an array of learning styles. I appreciate the opportunity to help individuals who have the desire to change their life and learn a new skill.
Why I Believe in Online Education:
I believe that by using technology, we have more opportunity to create new possibilities in a virtual classroom. I have personally grown as an instructor and an employee because of online education and for that I am extremely grateful. I appreciate how GU/MSB is going forward and I work with a very dedicated team, my hats off to both the accounting department and the online education group.
