There are a wide variety of resources there to help you with your career strategizing efforts whether your goal is to get a promotion or find a new opportunity.
For those of you looking for a new opportunity, one of the services that GU/MSB offers is a free resume posting service to all active students and graduates.
Any active student or graduate can go in and view the opportunities that are posted on our site and with a click of a button submit their resume for the position. You also can select to have your resume public where potential employers can go in and view it and contact you regarding opportunities they have.
So, how do you get your resume uploaded to the website? Follow these easy steps:
- Go to the GU/MSB website and select Students then select Career Services and then upload resume or job postings.
- You must register to use the site. Use your current log in information that you do to access your student e-mail.
- If you are uploading your resume select Upload Resume from the initial Career Services screen. It must be a Microsoft Word document.
- Once your resume is uploaded, I will be notified electronically that you have uploaded your resume and are awaiting approval. You will receive an email acknowledging whether your resume was approved or denied. If denied, then watch for an email from me explaining why the resume was denied. You can make the necessary corrections and upload it again for approval and the original one is wiped out by the replacement one.
- Once your resume is approved, it is immediately available for employers to view.
- You can apply directly to any of the postings with a click of the button (Submit my Resume) if: the employer requests resumes sent by email and if you have an approved resume on file. If an employer has requested to have a resume faxed or be contacted by phone, the information will appear under the “How to Apply” field and you will need to follow the stated instructions.
- If an employer has requested resumes to be pre-screened, I will receive an email notification that you have applied for a position. The application then is approved or denied by me. I may contact you to find out more about your skills to ensure you are a true fit for the position.
If you should receive any type of error message in the process of uploading your resume please either copy/paste the message in an email to me or do a print screen to a blank word document and then e-mail it to me.
