Educational Background: B.A. in English from St. John’s University, 1976, M.A. in English from St. Cloud State University, 1995

Professional Background: A career Language Arts teacher with thirty years of experience, I have been a distance learning instructor for ten years. My teaching experience includes having served as an adjunct professor for the University of St. Thomas, teaching a class in their Master’s program entitled “The Elements of Effective Instruction.” I also serve as a Resource Teacher, training teachers and administrators in the application of learning theory.

Courses I teach: Composition

Personal interests:   I love to read, write, teach, travel--and hunt. Time spent with my wife and three sons tops the list of any interests. A published poet, my work has appeared in the online publication Three Candles journal, the North Stone Review, Modern Haiku, Upper Mississippi Review, and Sidewalks.

Why I Enjoy Teaching at MSB Online: Writing well is pivotal to career advancement, and MSB Online gives me the opportunity to teach fascinating people from diverse backgrounds who are eager to become better writers. I also love teaching in a supportive environment, “virtually” surrounded by colleagues who are committed to my success and that of my students.

Why I Believe in Online Education: Online education is exciting, cutting-edge learning, the perfect medium for those eager to pursue their career goals using the latest educational technology. I believe in online education because it meets learners where they’re at and takes them where they want to go.
