How to Apply for Financial Aid

Step 1: Let us help

Attend a one-on-one meeting with a member of our financial aid department. Applying for federal student aid can be confusing and frustrating. You do not have to do this alone—our representative will walk you through each of the steps below.

Step 2

Apply for your Federal PIN. If you are dependent, your parents should also apply for a PIN. This PIN will serve as your electronic signature on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Step 3

Once you have received your PIN, complete your FAFSA on the Web. The School Code for all MSB Campuses is 017145 and for Globe University is 004642. Please list the appropriate code on your FAFSA. If you prefer to file a paper FAFSA, our representative will provide one.

Step 4

Watch for the list of required documents we will send via email or postal mail. Collect the documents, double-check to make sure you and your parents have signed wherever indicated, and turn the documents in to our office.

Step 5

When your file is complete, we will contact you to arrange an individual (on-campus or phone) appointment with an your financial aid administrator. Your administrator will deliver your award letter at that appointment (on campus) or by email (before a phone appointment).

Step 6

With the help of your financial aid administrator, be sure you have applied for any scholarships and outside grants and loans for which you may qualify.

Step 7

Plan ahead—every year you are a student, you will reapply for federal aid. Your administrator will always be happy to help, but now you know what documents to keep in a convenient location.
